A natural tooth consists of crown and roots. Conventional dentures replace the visible part of the tooth - the crown. To anchor them in place, healthy teeth have to be drilled.

Implants are a more natural alternative to this: they replace roots and crown. Implants fulfill the roots´ biological function while reinstating the esthetic aspects.

Whether you have lost one tooth, several teeth or all your teeth: Implants are a natural alternative.

However, there are certain medical conditions (diabetes, for instance), under which implants would be ill advised. By cooperating with your GP, we will check all your options.

No. The implants are inserted under local anesthetic, so you won´t feel a thing during the operation. Over the course of a few days, the gums will also recover completely.

You are in charge of the implant´s long-term success! Conscientious and thorough oral hygiene is vital. Especially plaque is dangerous for your implant. If you decide on an implant, be sure to clean your teeth thoroughly after eating.

The implant (a titanium core) is surgically inserted into the jaw. It consists of a mooring in the jawbone and a shaft which crowns, bridges or removable prosthetics can be anchored to, safely and durably.

The implant practically melds with the jawbone and becomes the mooring for your dentures. As a tree´s roots lend it support and stability, your dentures are supported by the implant.

The treatment is carried out largely in two stages.

Stage 1: Implants are inserted into the jaw under local anesthetic and the gums are sewn shut. During the following recovery phase (three to six months), you will wear a temporary denture.

Stage 2: After uncovering the implant and taking an impression, the permanent denture is screwed onto it. From now on, you can sink your teeth into life again.
